Frank Ebner and Toni Fetzer won the indoor localization competition for smartphone-based solutions in Spain
The external PhD students Frank Ebner and Toni Fetzer from the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt won the indoor localization competition for smartphone-based solutions at this years International Conference on Indoor Positioning and Indoor Navigation (IPIN). By using a lightweight solution that combines different sensor modalities in a probabilistic manner based upon a graph-based floor plan, they were able to outperform the other 6 competitors. Both are supervised by Prof. Frank Deinzer (University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt), and Prof. Marcin Grzegorzek (University of Siegen).
